We aim for our students to feel included in our school community and to experience a sense of belonging.
Going to school is not just a legal obligation; it significantly influences the success of young individuals. In fact, if students’ attendance drops below 95%, their likelihood of achieving five or more grade 5s or higher decreases sharply. We recognise that some of our students may face challenges with attendance, but maintaining a regular school routine is crucial. If your child is experiencing anxiety related to attending school, we are committed to providing support in any way possible.
We understand that there may be rare instances when you need to take your child out of school. As of September 2013, the law does not grant parents the right to take their child on vacation during school term. Any holiday or event should be planned during the 13 weeks when school is closed. Taking time off can negatively affect your child's educational performance. We cannot approve any requests for time off due to vacations.
If leave is taken during term time, parents or guardians may face a penalty notice from the local authority for removing a child from school without the school's consent.
